In 1997 the fifth Chivas Master Blender Colin Scott created the exceptional Chivas 18, which went on to win multiple awards for its multi-layered flavours. This premium Gold Standard scotch whisky that is aged for 18 years is velvety, luxurious, with dark chocolate cues and multi-layered aromas of dried fruit and buttery toffee. A very soft texture, a smooth mouthfeel and an overall sweet taste with a hint of dryness and a lengthy finish. It wasn't until the 1850's that they saw an opportunity to create a style of whiskey using combining soft grain Whiskey and robust single malts to create balanced and smooth blend scotch whiskies.
