About this deal

A successful architect who runs a business that is doing extremely well. To the outside world she has it all except she craves to have a child and has been down a difficult journey including IVF to no avail, this has put pressure on her marriage - at age 18 she was the sole charge of looking after her sister Your estate consists of your assets, such as your money, property, any businesses, etc. and any funeral costs will be taken from this if there is no will or close family members or friends. What if someone is unable to name a next of kin?

The younger sister is a secretary and has no problems having a child the first child Toby had a tragic terrible illness and baby number 2 Max seemed to be doing well The story was incredibly intriguing to start off with, you have Chloe and Warren who are basically thrown together where living as roommates benefits both of them. Chloe can take guardianship of her sister and Warren can take guardianship of his brother. But Chloe and Warren just don’t get off on the right foot and the TENSION IS MAJOR!!! Like I was clutching my chest over here anytime these two were in the same room!! And the spice felt like the perfect balance for this book!!! I know these are fictional characters but the idea of someone going on a date with someone while lusting over someone else makes me really uncomfortable. ☹️ Chloe’s character progression was just as solid. The way she started opening up to Warren and her friends about her past once she finally felt safe to do so was so natural and organic and I just loved her. If someone dies without a will (also known as dying intestate) and has no traceable next of kin, close relative or friend, their unclaimed estate will be passed onto the government and a public health funeral (or pauper’s funeral) will be arranged by the local council where the person died.

This was such a wonderful book! Two strangers, each trying to get custody of their siblings, are paired up as roommates. Chloe is a sweet, quiet, sunshiney girl, and she is now responsible for her newborn baby sister. Warren is a grumpy mechanic (who has the kindest heart deep down) is trying to get custody of his Deaf teenage brother. They all become temporary roommates to help with the custody process.

An LPA is a legal document which lets you state exactly who you would want to manage your financial affairs and any healthcare needs in the event that you should lose the mental capacity to do so yourself. This way, you get the peace of mind knowing that your affairs will be handled sensibly and in a way that you would want if anything should happen to you. warren is such a grump at first and draws a line in the sand. he doesn’t want chloe to interfere with him and his brother and has no plans to help out chloe. a well intentioned plan except that he becomes a total simp for chloe and cute baby willow. he’s so obsessed with them and even starts outfitting his car with fancy baby stuff for them. BUT...I still flew through this one. I thought I had guessed the twist early on. Well I was wrong! And then I was wrong again...and again! The ending absolutely bamboozled me as it spat out surprises like an ice cream machine with a broken “off” valve.

A stunning courtroom drama, taut, tantalising, deftly paced, with a denouement that will leave you reeling’ The courtroom scenes could have been more intense but I enjoyed this book in its almost entirety (90% of brilliance). As you can imagine, the writing in here is heart-wrenching and intense. As Abdullah advances the story, you are left to wonder who is really to blame; and it’s only with the final portion of the story revealing the real truths you are left to wonder no more.
