This book is written in a style that is very easy to read and the guide to meditation is perfect for beginners. He explains about how our lives are causing us to be more distracted maybe anxious, sad, threatened.

Gelong Thubten, a Buddhist monk who has worked with everyone from Silicon Valley entrepreneurs to Ruby Wax and Benedict Cumberbatch, explores the theme of happiness in his debut book and explains how to bring meditation into our busy 21st century lives with simple exercises. How waiting for something doesn’t have to be a stress inducing inconvenience but instead a moment to pause, time to just be until it is time to re-engage with your day and hurry off. Here we can indeed accept the notion that Gelong Thubten has had experience, for he has been though at least one retreat, on an island in Scotland – which might be an independent new country in the upcoming years, member of the EU, but out of the UK – where they had their food brought by a person from the outside, they have been unaware that Barack Obama has become president and the world has been through a major, calamitous financial crisis – which blew our minds over here , unaware as we were of the teachings of the Monk that are easy to get now – and furthermore, they have taken a vow of silence for six months – or was it five – the only issue we may have is that we can sense a déjà vu. Thubten is able to explain meditation using clear language and an approach which really speaks to our modern tech-infused lives. Mick Brown ― Journalist for The Daily Telegraph --This text refers to an alternate kindle_edition edition. His observations are actually frustrating at times as they are so simple that I couldn’t believe I hadn’t considered them before. In this profound and inspiring book, Gelong Thubten shares a practical and sustainable approach to happiness. Now, the reason that beginner-level meditation exercises start with anchors like the body and breath is that these are very immediate, noticeable things to focus on. By using these techniques, even on your journey to work you will be able to find moments to practise mindfulness.

That all being said, I am much happier using his meditation advice and instruction as a helping hand rather than a prescription for meditation success, as I much prefer the methods I am currently using. This book is profound and insightful, but told with the voice of a person who is down-to-earth and who shows humility.Don't go expecting unicorns and rainbows from this book, however what you will get is some great down to earth guidance from a man who can relate to the problems we face in our everyday lives because he was once there too.

Everyone looks externally to find contentment, we think material possessions will unlock our happiness. He ordained as a monk 26 years ago at Samye Ling Tibetan Monastery in Scotland, and he has spent over six years in intensive meditation retreats, the longest of which was 4 years long. Každodenná meditácia nám poskytne intenzívny tréning pre myseľ - a teda mnoho zručností, aby sme mohli efektívne narábať so svojimi myšlienkami. Within is a guide that is pragmatic and realistic in nature that offers beneficial and satisfying advice about both meditation and mindfulness (not the same thing) that can be brought into our lives in many different ways.If you think you're doing it right, I bet you'll be able to pick up at least one useful tip from reading this book. The objective here is to be fully and non-judgmentally focused on whatever we’re experiencing in the present moment.

Focus on the habits that a busy lifestyle can lead us to and how to break those and maintain a positive mindset and outlook.Unhappiness involves a sense of incompleteness, which arises from desire and seeking happiness outside of ourselves. There is some guidance and having both the audio book and the hard copy were handy as there are guided meditations at the end so having someone read them to you rather than you having to read them whilst practising was very good, but also having the hard copy to reference was very handy too. Meditácia teda nie je o stereotypnom vypustení všetkého z našej hlavy, ale skôr o spracúvaní myšlienok či istom zmierení sa s nimi.
