This effect of the distance is of course very strong in the landscape, as we look far into the distance. This genre can be combined with others, as in the aerial cloudscapes of Georgia O'Keeffe, the aerial moonscapes of Nancy Graves, or the aerial cityscapes of Yvonne Jacquette. The earliest "pure landscapes" with no human figures are frescos from Minoan art of around 1500 BCE.
