Now, I'm thrilled to turn back the clock and watch her navigate the highs and lows of seventh grade. But overall I think it’s a fun read for young girls that aren’t familiar with Jessica Darling, but also an interesting read for people that are big time Sloppy Firsts (and co) fans. Jessica darling it list is about a girl named jessica and she has a popular older sister that wants jessica to be popular too. McCafferty's third Jessica Darling novel, Charmed Thirds, had just been released a week after Opal Mehta, and was No. The romantic awkwardness, like how the boys chant at Bridget on the bus, like hooting like a pack of monkeys is really endearing.

And maybe just maybe, some parents out there are Jessica Darling fans and have children that are old enough to be introduced to the series themselves. Jessica Darling, star of Megan McCafferty’s bestselling Jessica Darling series for adults, is back in a hilarious new series perfect for tween (10 to 14) girls.I loved how Jessica is worried about her first day of middle school while her sister was the it girl at Pineville middle school. I was rooting for her as she had snarky thoughts about all the girls I would have hated at that age.

Armed with extremely limited advice from her popular older sister (such as “Wear something different every day”), Jessica interprets these vague rules with some success. Many young female characters are consumed by looks, popularity, boys, and "perfection"; these characters are shown to be insecure and in desperate need of approval. Parents need to know that Jessica Darling's It List is a movie based on the book for older kids and tweens by Megan McCafferty. The premise is similar – Bethany, Jessica’s beautiful, much-older sister, has yet another list that guarantees that Jessica will be able to navigate friendships in her middle school years. So, for all the parents and teachers out there – what have the young readers you know thought of this book? The novel represents life as a middle school student, it shows all the drama of middle school in just 240 short pages, and it leaves you thinking and feeling bad for poor Jessica.

Also, I'm sure you all didn't need to know all of that, but, whatever, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION. At the end of the movie, what clues did the filmmakers give you to tell you where their relationship was going? The worst part about the nastiness Manda and Sara and Dori and Bridget were spreading about each other? For the uninitiated, Jessica Darling is the star of a five-part series of books that tracks a young woman from the beginning of her junior year of high school to her mid-twenties. I'm looking forward to the next book - I wonder how many are in this series, because I enjoyed this start!Part of this is explained in an early conversation between Jessica and Bethany where her older sister points out that popular people are too busy being popular to keep a journal – ironic given that’s exactly what Jessica ends up doing. What’s beautiful about this book is that Jessica’s trademark independence and persistence emerge during one of the most trying times in the formation of a person’s identity: the beginning of junior high.
